The flame is not as strong as I would like, but not bad. I almost returned the thing because it didn't light up until I realized it had some air in it that needed to be vented first. So I poured out the butane I poured in, used a small screwdriver to bleed the butane and air/air mixture - anything it takes to depress the valve where the gas enters should work - and that Topped up with butane and everything worked fine. A flame appeared before the release of air, but then quickly disappeared. This has never happened to me with this type of lighter, but I read about it with another lighter, tried it and it worked.
