These are nice RCA plugs. If you succeeded in the soldering process, you should be happy with it.1. The central pin is a soldered cup. Outside of ETMS, I've never seen anyone with the proper tool for soldering wires to solder cups. Google "Pace TW-15" if interested. Since the cup is not the smallest, but only one, you can get by with a very steady hand and the right soldering iron - a narrow chisel tip on a roughly 60-watt thermostatic iron. A low wattage iron will need to be left on longer than a thermostatted iron, increasing the likelihood of melting plastic before the cup is hot enough to melt the solder. A strong solid iron can work if you are REALLY fast.2. I wish you the best of luck using lead free solder. You must connect without destroying the connector.3. The blades from the batch I received were too narrow for the jack. Bend them carefully and a little if you did too; You don't have to bother so much to connect it.4. These plugs have a metallic outer shell and do not discharge any voltage. Consider adding strain relief/insulation depending on what you're soldering to it (e.g. speaker wire). I used heat shrink tubing for that little extra piece of mind. I suspect most one star reviews are due to users without the right experience, gear or plumb.
