Tried to wrap the air intake with the DEI Cool Cover Air Tube Cover Kit tonight. I had to save myself the headache and just return it, but I really wanted to try and make this product work. To be fair, my air intake is NOT straight and has quite a curve at one point. The weight (thickness) of the material is satisfactory, but avoiding curves (especially sharp ones) is difficult. The sewing quality is terrible. After closing and releasing the velcro about 5 times, the seams have already come undone and the velcro has come loose in places. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal since I could try to fix it with a sewing machine. From there it only got worse. My air intake has retainers to hold it in place and minimize movement which meant notches had to be made in the material to allow for them. No problem, the scissors will easily cut it (I STRONGLY RECOMMEND PUTTING ON A DUST MASK) because afterwards you'll have fiberglass particles EVERYWHERE. After making the cuts I made another test fit, tugging a bit here and there to make sure everything fits the way I wanted it and it just starts to tear where the cuts were made. To keep that from happening, I had planned to sew the edges right after, but I didn't even have time. Complete garbage. I use two other DEI products on my machine, Cool Tape and Titanium Wrap, and I think both products work great. But this cool cover is complete nonsense and really disappointing. If your inlet isn't straight, has no clips or connections, and is about 4 inches long I'd say save your money and look elsewhere. Hope this helps someone else.
