I stumbled across an industrial grinder and went through the arduous process of removing old lead paint and restoring mechanical components to working order only to find that it was far from what I needed. This is a beautiful work of industrial art from the Lost Machines era. But I still have to thin the skin. Use this simple hand tool that gives me complete control over how to thin and sculpt my skin to fit my needs. The blades are easy to change, although this requires frequent blade changes. Unfortunately, that is the nature of leatherwork. I just wish they were a more versatile blade type. It is convenient to hold and use. After playing with it a bit, you'll understand when to use the curved and flat parts of the blade to make the cuts you need.
