I bought this set because I needed tools for a class I was giving to five friends. The quantity and quality of the items in this set exceeded all my expectations. There were 5 needle holders (not 3 like in the photo) and a plastic box for all the tools. The amount of roving was modest: each color was packed in a tiny zippered bag. We had roving and wrapping material for the class so it wasn't a problem. The scissors were decent, holders of the same quality as everywhere. There would be enough needles for an army! The felt pad was made from the same packing material that we brought with us. Everything came in a solid box. There was no instruction other than inserting the needle into the holder. If you're new, you'll need to find another source of information. If you're going to be doing a lot of felting, you'll also need the right foam pad. I don't know why colorful pipe cleaners were part of the set.
