I bought this for my hamster for Christmas but couldn't wait to put it on for him early. He didn't get straight to the point. When introducing your pet to something new, sometimes it takes time to get used to it. So if your hamster doesn't jump into it right away, give it time. I put a treat inside so he would associate it with good feelings and eventually he loved it and kept jumping in. Now this is his safe place if he wants to retire. I let him walk around the room, I have to let him stretch his legs and be free (this room has no means of escape and it's safe for him) and he often jumps in when he wants to rest and wash his face or area, like hamsters do. Several times I found him sleeping there. I'm very glad I got him to have a cozy, safe place.
