Bargain Dance Shoes

These are dance shoes. This means there is a rubber outsole under the heel and forefoot and there is NOTHING any significant support in the middle. That's right for dance shoes. This allows us to guide our foot and lift our toes in ways that regular running shoes don't. Part of the criticism of this shoe is that people don't understand this fundamental design feature of dance shoes! If you need more support or wear orthotics in your Zumba shoes, I would recommend plain-soled sneakers (not too waffle) like good quality Asics. Just be aware that they can be pretty clingy on a vinyl dance floor. Sansha is known for cheaper (sometimes cheaper) dance shoes. The quality is usually okay and it's worth the trade-off for the lower price. Sansha's main disadvantage is the lack of half sizes. Either the size fits you or it doesn't. I'm a size 6 1/2-7 and a size 8 is a bit big for me but not big enough to be uncomfortable. (Note that I wear medium weight socks with shoes - tights or no socks - and they would be too large.) The shoes fit the grip of Bloch or Capezio dance shoes on a standard vinyl dance floor. I teach Irish Step and the cushioning seems to be the same as the more expensive Bloch and Capezio brands. Time will tell if they survive. I had to return a pair due to a manufacturing defect in the sole of the right shoe which made the shoes uncomfortable to wear. Overall, I feel like the quality of all these dance shoes has declined over the last ten years. I've had manufacturing issues with Bloch and Capezio shoes, so I don't see the issue with Sansha shoes as a sign that lower price equals lower quality.
