Great glass coating

First there was Rain-X, a decent product with a short lifespan, and then came PPG Aquapel, described on car forums as "Rain-X on steroids". Next comes ceramic jar. coatings. I've been using one of the Optimums for several years and I'm very happy with it. However, this is somewhat expensive. This product is less than half the price. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was made in Korea and not China. Most high quality detailing products are made in Korea. My box and bottle labeled "2021.07" had a date and symbols in a foreign language. I'm cautiously optimistic about the date of manufacture. According to the label, the product has a two-year shelf life after opening. Surface preparation is absolutely necessary here. I washed the car and windshield, then used plasticine to remove stubborn dirt from the glass. Special detailing clay for glass can be produced on request. Then I polished the glass with a special glass polish (from CARPRO) and finally wiped it with alcohol. The cleaner your windshield, the better these products will stick, work, and last longer. Next came the application itself. I did NOT use the applicator that came with it. This look is like a feminine makeup applicator and I think it will waste too much product. Instead, I used one of those yellow sponge applicators. Comes with 2 cheap gloves, only one pictured. The product stayed the same as the one I used. They even smell the same. I waited 10 minutes, wiped it down with a damp microfiber and then dried it, all as directed. Although the label says you can expose the glass to water immediately, I left it to dry in my garage for 24 hours. i live in florida and at this time of year it rains almost every day. The next day I was caught in a short but violent storm and it spilled water as did everything else I used. The only issue I can't solve is durability. The manufacturer states 1-2 years. If I last a year I will be very happy.
