After my laptop was stolen from a restaurant while I wasn't looking, I needed something to secure my laptop and prevent it from being taken away. This product works well for me. You can set your own combination and it fits into the laptop's lock port. It's covered in a nice plastic cover so the exposed cable isn't visible. Admittedly it doesn't look like a BMW precision tool and needs to be pushed in a bit to fit the laptop, but it seems to work. Unlike other reviewers, I didn't see the plastic cover come loose. I only use it occasionally and for stuffing something in my backpack when needed it's a great touch. I also have a few extras for tying up my computer gear in another apartment while I'm away. I think I bought a total of five or so of these and am happy with them.
