I've only had it one day. Installation was easy enough (love that they include a screwdriver which certainly saved a lot of hassle). The material doesn't feel particularly strong (it bends very easily), I'm not sure how hard it would be for a thief to just break it. Also, the lock will scratch the surface underneath - if you have a good desk, you should put your laptop between it and your computer. In general, I expected more for my 60 euros.

I bought this product for my daughter who is in her first year of college. I thought it would be great to have a case and lock since Apple has ditched the Kennsington lock sport. The Maclock security package is cheap and weak and broke within six months. I paid full price which was about $78 with taxes. DO NOT buy this product, it is not worth your money. The locking mechanism was poorly designed and broke with normal use. I don't mind putting my money into something that will last a few years,

MAKE SURE YOU WEAR IT RIGHT. I've had one before and didn't screw it in properly so I ended up cracking the case which caused it to break more and more. Please make sure you screw it on properly and you should be ok. Lock and cable are very good!

It doesn't protect your investment. Mine was locked on my desk at work and within a week someone was pushing the corner of the wedge up and over the screw (where the lock goes in) and then just snapped the metal in half. They left with my brand new 15" MBP, albeit with half a Maclock stuck to the bottom! The only plus for me was that it was a work computer that I hadn't saved anything to since it was so new. Maclocks is an interesting product that fills the gap Apple created for the RETINA laptop without a Kennsington lock hole. It looks like it could break easily, but that's a deterrent.

1 star because I can't do 0. In less than 6 months the case falls apart completely. Part of the lock attachment broke off, the case broke off completely on one side and cracks appeared in many other places. Maclock's answer is that there is NO WARRANTY on non-metal products. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! The company shouldn't be selling this with brittle plastic and has no intention of endorsing their product.
