Review on Epson EF-100 Smart Laser Projector With Android TV White by Demetrio Lowe

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love it! Cant wait for the summer time to use it outside

Received the EPSON EF-100 one evening, the next morning I unboxed the unit and set it up, cool little projector and a great looking piece of Tech. Pretty simple setup; remove the rear cover of the projector and attach the Epson streaming device, or any other streaming device you may have, replace the rear cover, attach the power cable, and press the projector ON button. Press the Enter button on the projector remote and watch the video guide. Pairing the remote to the projector is easy and signing into your Netflix, Hulu, or any internet streaming app, you may have, is also very easy. Now came the fun part, finding a suitable place for the projector with an adequate wall to project the picture onto. There is a lot to take into consideration, will you be placing the projector on a table, or hanging it from the ceiling, either way you will have to insure there are not any obstacles like ceiling fans (if hanging from a ceiling), that could block the projector laser and you will need access to an electrical source. To give you an example of what you can do, I placed the projector on a 32 inch high table, sitting approximately 7 ½ feet from a clear 5 foot section of wall. With a little adjustment of the V (vertical) & H (horizontal) Keystone, the focus lever, and the zoom/telephoto set all the way to Tele, I projected a very clear and sharp image 5 foot wide by 31 inches high. It took a little work to get the V & H keystone and the Zoom/Telephoto adjusted. Another cool feature is to lay down and project a movie onto the ceiling and once again a nice sharp picture. The fan on the projector is very quiet compared to the other projectors I've used in the past.We were projecting the movie onto a cream colored orange peel textured wall and still had an incredible picture. Every TV we have seen has reflections from windows or lights and this does interfere with your movie or show. With the EF-100 you don't have this, not having any glare from lights, windows, or doors is very nice because your picture never changes from almost any angle and it remains clear and sharp.Built in speakers have great sound for listening to shows/movies. I attempted to connect the EF-100 to a Bose 10 speaker via a stereo mini jack cable, my cell phone showed the connection, the projector's built in speakers disconnected correctly, however I never could get any sound from the Bose 10. I tried two (2) new mini jack cables and neither would work.Remember, although the EF-100 has a small foot print and is very portable, you will have to do a little planning as this is not just a set it anywhere and create the size picture you want.I would definitely use the EF-100 projector in exchange for a TV if we did not have a quality large TV hanging on our living room wall. The more I use the EF-100 the more I am considering removing our large TV and using the EF-100, it is that good, and I'm tired of the glare in our TV.Pros:Small and portableEasy Set-up & UseIncredible Picture (Almost Anywhere You Place It)Great SoundNo Glare or Reflections from Windows, Doors, or Lights.Cons:No Cons at this time
