Review on πŸ“ž Enhanced Netgear SPH150D Cordless Phone with Skype Accessory Handset by Elizabeth Rue

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Identical to SPH200D - as expected

I've been using the SPH200D and two additional handsets (SPH150D) since April 21st. The best price I found was from Revain on April 9, 2007. Set up was easy and user friendly. Good sound quality. Very good battery life and the batteries are user replaceable. We like the intercom and speakerphone features. This and "Mute" are buttons on the phone; So you don't have to navigate the menus to use them. The system makes Skype easy to use and also supports a simple landline number for 1) incoming calls so you can keep the same phone number, 2) have a phone during a power outage and 3) call 911. Since the base station is always there, it's easy to forget that SkypeOut isn't a regular phone service. Netgear has a nice active forum on their website. Users share useful information. An important point that is not documented: after the SkypeOut connection is established and a message is displayed on the phone screen, you have to press OK to delete the message before the phone sends dial tones (DTMF). Not so hot what's up. Just confusion until you know.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Gloomy hardware
