I often light candles and also use a charcoal fireplace (you light newspaper in the lower chamber) to light the charcoal. This gadget perfectly copes with both of these tasks! I like the technology that uses an electric arc instead of a butane gas flame. Yes, this arc will easily ignite newspaper in addition to candle wicks, even short ones. The length of the bow is so short that the lighter is essentially protected from the wind and even from the rain. No more butane so you'll never have to refill or replace it, just charge the internal battery when needed with the included USB charging cable. There are even 4 blue LEDs that show the current battery level and while charging, the status of the charge (one of the blue lights will flash to show how far the charge is and when it is fully charged, all 4 lights will be on) . none of them blink). In fact, this thing blows butane lighters and matches out of the water. A few days after I received mine, I ordered 2 more as gifts.
