I bought these to light our walkway at Halloween because we were using purple and orange bulbs in our outdoor light which cut down on the brightness of the walking path. We wanted to be sure that the trick or treaters could see our decorations and, more important, could see where they were walking for safety reasons. I used 2 of these in our entryway and they provided sufficient light for those purposes without adding wires or cords that could be a potential tripping hazard. They were easy to charge and the LEDs gave a fair amount of light that I would say covered about a 10-foot x 10-foot area for each light.I have also used these lights as soft light for taking pictures of small items and they work well for that. They're small, light and portable so I can place them anywhere and they don't get in the way of the camera.Another purpose for which we think we may use them is during power outages from storms. We live in Florida where bad storms are common especially in the summer and throughout hurricane season. It's nice to have backup lighting if and when the power fails. Since they don't need batteries, we can just keep them charged and then pull them out when needed during storm season.
