we used a smaller digital scale than this one and it's odd how much more comfortable it gets to step on a scale that's 1.2 inches wider than this Taylor scale (12.2 inches vs. 11 customs at the other). Simple device that requires you to insert 3 AAA batteries (included) and place it on the floor. Step forward until the number lights up, then step back until you get "0,0". This will calibrate the scale and you're good to go. It is measured in 0.2lb increments. There are Kilos and Stone (Hello Britain!) settings too if that's what you want! The weight takes a second or two to turn on when you step on it, but the black numbers on a white background are easy to read and flash when the weight is registered, glowing for seconds even when you've gone mad. smaller digital scale, this Taylor scale always seems to be about 1% lighter. So if you weigh 101 on another scale, you weigh 100 on the Taylor scale. Which one is right? I say one where I weigh a pound or two less! 4.5 stars.
