Installed Zumo to replace BMW OEM Nav V (Zumo 595) on dash. The Zumo sits close to the dash and is snug enough to slide the sun visor straps on the ends without removing the GPS from the mount, but that doesn't need to be done very often on my R1200RT toilet. When I installed the Zumo 396 on the handlebars of my R1150GS it was easy to install as I had plenty of room in the back to attach and mount the GPS straps. That back space doesn't exist on the RT, and it's more difficult. I can't install the canopy first and then snap the Zumo + parasol combo onto the mount because the straps will slide in and get in the way of the mount latch. The answer for me was as above and sometimes it pays to add the tint provided by the product. Until the straps stretch.
