Did exactly what I needed. I had a 256GB SATA m.2 SSD (Micron 1100) that originally came with the laptop, into which I inserted a 500GB Samsung Evo 960 m.2 NVMe PCIe drive. It just stood still and I thought about getting an SD card for another laptop. but SD wouldn't be fast enough (writing) for what I need. It's smaller than an external pre-purchased drive and, for the drive inside, it's much faster than any SD card. Using this with a Dell i5379-5893GRY-PUS laptop works great (assuming I'm running Manjaro KDE Linux). In testing, the drive showed a read speed of around 450MB/s and a write speed of 400MB/s, which is what I expected from the drive I was using. The case itself was well packaged, it had all the screws and a small screwdriver along with a USB type AB cable that was about 30cm long. Installation was easy and once assembled it feels very solid and well made. It has a small light at the end of the USB connector that is white and flashes when active. I'm very happy with it as I was able to take an SSD that I had no other use for and turn it into a very fast, small enough external drive that wouldn't be cumbersome to carry around with my laptop when traveling. I mainly use it for KVM VM images/files that I don't use often. It worked great for this, allowing me to install Windows 10 in a virtual machine in about 5 minutes.
