We recently received the Owleez in white and my kids (ages 5 and 7) were immediately drawn to its cute looks and many interactive features. Thankfully, it charged fairly quickly with the included USB cable. I like that the cord is attached to the jack so kids can't lose it. At first it reminded me of one of the fingerling toys due to the interaction, care, and sounds, but the Owleez features are superior to other toys we've tried. The color changing eyes and included instructions make it easy for kids to figure out what they want and my kids especially enjoyed the color changing game he plays. the kids are really scared of it. They loved "teaching" it to fly and wanted to try it a few times to get better at it, but every time it took off my kids got nervous about how to catch or guide it. My 7 year old son said it looked like a drone. It can also be a bit difficult to find a place in your house for a flight. So far it's only hit the ground and it's very light, but I'm worried it'll hit a TV or lamp. The instructions say it gets better with more practice, so maybe we'll understand that better as we keep playing with it. Overall I think this is a pretty cool little toy best suited for 8-10 year olds.
