This camera has been used by me and my grandson with no problems. The video was bright and clear and the photos were very clear. I was a bit skeptical about the claims and good reviews, but I'm happy to see this camera doing very well. I ordered a second battery and charger, but the original battery seems to last at least a few hundred shots and everything is fine. The SR (Scene Recognition) setting works very well. It must be remembered that the lens is in the upper left corner so the fingers are not visible, but otherwise it is very intuitive. I prefer the Canon SX 10 IS digital for serious work as it allows for an external flash, 20x zoom and more controlled and creative settings, but in the Canon and Fuji XP 60 software on SR the images look about the same quality off. My grandson took it into the water but the water was so murky that the results were inconclusive. I plan to take the camera to the pool and see what the underwater backdrop will be like. I love the price, the compactness, the ease of use and the many customization options that are possible with the Fuji. I was supposed to get a swimming bracelet as I was worried my grandson would lose the camera but he didn't remove the bracelet that came with it and it worked. It came with a small camera bag but I needed a larger one to carry the charger and battery along with my camera. This is a compact camera bag from Lowepro that's perfect for everything. The camera also came with an 8GB SD card, which surprised me. I downloaded the manual from the Fuji website and kept it in the docs as the quick install guide that came with it isn't the most complete. Get DSLR out of sand and surf and still get very good photos and HD videos.
