The cover is soft but still thin. I decided to leave my old pad underneath, which required my niece's help to hold the old pad in place while I pulled the new cover, trained and in place. After I ironed out all the creases, the zippers definitely helped keep the case in place since I had an extra mass of old padding. The design in Grizh is cute and goes well with the decor of my room. The anti-brand mesh is cute, but I don't know if I'll use it. Anyway I think it was a good purchase and I'm happy with how it looks and matches my bedroom decor.
