Cabin Air Filter - Easy to Install

Buick Lucerne CF140 filter is very easy to install. First open the hood. Remove the black plastic panel from the passenger side panel just below the wiper by pressing on the two protruding tabs. Pull out the plastic push pin retainer from the right side of the air cleaner frame (see photo). Press the tab on the left side of the frame and pull the filter up and out. You can leave the push pin outside. It doesn't look like the filter in the airbox is moving. The tab on the left was a little hard to see in the car, so I just pushed the tab in on the new filter to keep it from snapping. in place in the hood (see photo). There's really no need to hold the filter in place. When I first bought the Lucerne I thought the filter material had been removed from its black frame, but it wasn't. All this is one whole. I drove in cars that didn't have a cabin filter for 30 years. I've had two cars since 2005 and haven't noticed any difference in how I breathe or how I feel. My 2005 Park Avenue was very difficult to replace so after 1 or 2 laps we gave up and exited the filter. Having seen the Lucerne cabin filter so easy to remove and replace I will continue to do so. I haven't had my car long enough to determine how many miles it takes to get dirty. A year later, the filter was no longer so dirty.
