These shelves are for a basement or work room but not for a kitchen unless your decor is all about labels and brand names glaring at you. Sturdy? As long as you use good anchors. There is a protective covering which peeled off easily but both shelves had slices in that covering the entire length of the front edge leaving a scar in the steel. But the worst part was trying to remove their brand label on the front edge. I used acetone, rubber cement thinner and MORE. I finally had to scrape it gently with a razor blade which was a nightmare. There is residual glue on it which won’t come off. I tried steel wool too. I didn’t return because I just wanted to get the job done but this was deliberate and I find it repulsive that a company would do this. I’d never buy from this brand again.
