Long waited to write a review. The idea behind it stands. The taste is strong and easy to clean. The downside is that the silicone seal on the inner lid will curl up after the second or third batch. IF this happens you lose the ability to keep the water and product closed. It also allows you to "stink". I like the smell, but my wife noticed that the house smelled like sauerkraut. That was my clue that something had gone wrong as the house hadn't smelled in months. I think it's better to use a solid device like an old school fermenter. They use weight and water rather than relying on technology (a silicone gasket that fails prematurely). If the gasket could be easily (and cheaply) replaced, it might not work.
