Received damaged item - twice

Bought for a friend who just gave birth to her second baby (first baby was stillborn). The Amazon outer box was fine but the real bamboo box was damaged both times. Didn't even bother to return it a second time. I will write to my friend shortly and apologize for ruining the gift. Not sure who is responsible for the damage (Amazon or the company) but this is disappointing.
