Review on Nokian Tires Hakkapeliitta 10p SUV 245/50 R19 105T winter by Adam Joks ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The right product for me, the price suited me.

5. Manageability. Predictability and the ability to maneuver during demolition is perhaps the most important characteristic for all-wheel drive owners. I don’t know what the Japanese “engineered” there, but B1 is really the best in this discipline. On any surface, even on a frozen slippery road keeps the road perfectly. On the RR Evoque, hard acceleration, drifts and turns are always under control. Already it becomes scary, and she bites into the road and rushing. None of these 4 tires are capable of this. P2 is slightly better than the others. Running B1 on Friel showed that 230 hp. at 2 tons, weights are not able to use its full potential. H5 and P2 in this discipline work for four. Cropped and tapered H10 is slightly worse. After a breakdown in a skid, it is quite difficult to control her behavior. But the M4 has the most disgusting demolition behavior. The RR E grinds at every traffic light and at every speed. After any demolition, it is impossible to predict its behavior, it carries like a basin. I drove it sideways until I sold it. It’s not mine already, I’ve played enough on SUBARIKE. In total, after all the tests and tests passed, I distributed these tires in places like this: 1 - Bridgestone BLIZZAK Spike 01. The best in handling, in other respects no worse than the rest. 2 - Pirelli Scorpion Ice Zero 2. A little worse road holding. 3 - Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10p SUV. If it weren’t for the narrowing and cuts, then I would have bypassed P2. 4 - Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 Sport Utility. A solid four in all respects, even despite old age. 5 - Michelin X-Ice North 4 SUV. Noisy, slippery and worse to drive. Now, with this experience and knowledge, what should I buy now? Ewok - Bridgestone BLIZZAK Spike 01 Friel - Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 Sport Utility I would not take any of the new products, definitely. I'm too old for such experiments. And as practice has shown, this has not led to any improvements. Good luck on the roads! And why do we always think that for a 2022 car, you must definitely take tires developed in 2022?

Pros
  • ADVANTAGES Moderately soft, without pronounced reinforcements, but durable. The best acceleration among classmates, easy, calm and confident. The quietest of the studded, probably due to narrowing. FLAWS Due to the cut of the side edges of the tread, the control of handling during drift has worsened. If not for this little thing, it would be the best. COMMENT Auto LR FR 2 + RR Evoque. The main habitat of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. It just so happened that this year it ran in the top 3 of our market. Michelin X-Ice North 4 SUV, Pirelli Scorpion Ice Zero 2 and Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10p SUV. Before them stood Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 Sport Utility and Bridgestone BLIZZAK Spike-01. A total of 5 tires, all have the same size (235/60 R18), the same four-wheel drive vehicles, the same driving style, the same habitat. In general, the following can be said about the new products: - if you have a simple sedan or a light crossover, and you prefer a calm driving style, at permitted speeds, then you can take any of them. But there are still small differences between them. Due to the lack of this information on the Internet, I had to extract it myself, empirically. I hope you find it useful. 1. Real dimensions. In the same size (235/60 R18) the tread width is different. H5, P2 and B1 - 200 mm., H10 - 190 mm., M4 - 180 mm. Yes, I know that according to their laws it is impossible to measure in this way, (corresponded with MICHELIN experts), but I proceed from my own experience, and not from information in press releases. Therefore, for heavy and powerful cars or for an active driving style, it is better to take for H10 - one, and for M4 - two sizes wider than recommended. These two new products have no stock, everything is on the verge.
Cons
  • Another difference between the H10 and M4 from the rest is the absence of protruding edges on the edges of the tread, they are cut off. As a result, safety and manageability deteriorated in difficult situations. 2. Braking. Here, in principle, everyone is the same and the differences are minimal, with the exception of some nuances. On packed snow, the M4 has the best deceleration. On the wet road at P2. On loose snow at H10. On the frozen slippery asphalt, everything is “good”, with the exception of the M4. It simply carries it, as if there are no spikes, but mini-skates. 3. Noise. The most controversial discipline I just want to write to Mitsubishi owners that they have no right to complain about the noise of rubber, since they did not pay for it when buying a car, but I won’t. Noise - all studded tires have, quiet studded tires do not exist and this is a fact. All four tires make about the same noise in winter. If you really nitpick, the H10 is the quietest of them, especially at speed. Most feared was the noise from the P2. But it turned out to be surprisingly quiet, at least the noise is not annoying at all. The only comment on the noise appears at positive temperatures. At the same time, the noise mainly comes not from the spikes, but from the huge contact patch of soft lamellas with the road. It is directly felt as she clings to every millimeter and tubercle. But the M4 is a disappointment. Yes, it is quiet, but at certain temperatures and speeds. And it can be very noisy, especially with increasing speed. Of course, there is no bleeding from the ears, but some ranges of this noise are infuriating. I couldn't get used to it. 4. Exchange rate stability. With acceleration, stop the inter-row porridge, ice or snow blockage, level off and also safely return to their row. The most calm and safe feeling during this maneuver gives, oddly enough, H5. No one on this list gives a safer and more predictable behavior. B1 - asks to "give up the gas" to improve grip. H10 - keeps perfectly only until demolition. P2 - lets you know about its width. M4 - always only with a prayer.
