I used to cut a 6 inch hole for my punchboard (white birch), its initial resistance is high, uncontrollable so it bounces around a lot. I later switched to a fine tooth bi-metal hole saw of the same size but cheaper from Menards and it worked great. Not recommended for perforated panels, maybe better for other applications.
