Review on Salomon Athletic Water Shoes Hiking Grape Shadow Men's Shoes by Peter Bates

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The upper is durable, but the tread wears out sooner than I expected

I've worn these shoes and previous versions every day, as well as go-anywhere shoes, for many years. I appreciate the convenience and speed of the lacing system, as well as the durability of the upper, especially the collar, which has always worn out quickly on my other shoes. The tread in the ball of the foot seems to wear down faster in these shoes than I would like but that may be because they are designed for trail running and I wear them everywhere including asphalt, concrete etc. The worn tread is what keeps me from Buying another pair although they may still look good and are otherwise in good condition as I find it difficult to pace up and down wet grass/mud on my commute to work without slipping. Another area that wears constantly for me is the fabric on the inside of the heel; It inevitably wears out, exposing a piece of hard plastic. Those complaints aside, these were the perfect shoes for me
