Well-made, large towels; cheerful colors -- bold stripes down the sides of the panel with beautiful sunflowers

In the product description these towels are described as everyday kitchen towels but I buy this type of towels more for decoration purposes. I buy fairly plain terry towels for a real job to clean up the mess in the kitchen, but I always buy at least one set of "fancy" towels for every holiday, and I'm also happy to find patterns that are fun for the rest of the year. Flat rather than terry, these towels are usually hung over the sink and are only meant for drying hands after washing, but they also work well for drying glassware and dishes as they leave no lint. I really like this particular set with the bright stripes and the beautiful pattern of embroidered sunflowers on the center panel - it reminds me of late summer and fall. One of these towels would be perfect for a gift basket of homemade bread and jam for a friend or neighbor. I own many DII cotton kitchen towels and have always been pleased with the quality of the fabric as well as the construction and these are no exception. They are quite large and have a diagonal strap through a corner for hanging. The fabric is dense, made of 100% tightly woven cotton, not flimsy at all. The towel is neatly hemmed all over with no skipped or uneven stitches. I usually wash these towels in cold water and dry them upright to minimize shrinkage and keep them looking their best for as long as possible. I have some that are a few years old but they still look good. At first they are not as absorbent as expected, but after a few washes they become softer and more absorbent. I think the current price of $10.99 is very reasonable for this set of two towels.
