These watercolor brushes are amazing. The colors are highly pigmented and fade gently with water. The top of the brush is solid and offers good control with both thin and thicker lines (there are a few lines next to the starfish pattern). In the photo, I forgot to smooth some colors, but all colors work equally well for me. I didn't notice that with all products. Definitely happy with this purchase. Activation instructions are on a flat sheet between the markers and the packaging (easy to miss). To avoid wasting ink, remove the yellow ring on the brush and dip the tip in clean water for a second or two. Hold the pen straight up and down and squeeze 1-2 times - allow the ink to fill the brush, gently stroke the paper and observe the ink at the tip. If you squeeze too much, you'll end up flooding the top and wasting ink. Enjoy these beautiful flowers!
