Much better than the plastic covers of the past

After buying a double bed for our young daughter we donated her crib in hopes of helping someone in need. We weren't sure if we could get another one and decided it was better to use than store. Well, here we wait! We got a new cot and of course we needed everything new after the donation. I remember how messy newborn babies can be, so a mattress topper was a must. I liked that it's organic cotton, but it also has a waterproof barrier that's secure and protects the mattress from the inevitable mess of newborn babies. I tossed it in the wash before wearing it and it washed and dried (on low) like a dream. It also fits perfectly with our mattress. I also like that it doesn't feel like the cheap plastic mattress pads we're used to. They usually resemble picnic tablecloths and can be noisy, which is annoying in newborns and children in general. It doesn't make as much noise, which is a big plus. And it seems way better than the ones I've seen and used in the past. I feel this adds a bit more weight to the mattress which is also a positive as it ensures this mattress fits the crib very well. In general - I like it. I'm looking to buy one for my daughter's double bed as the one we have looks like the plastic sheet I described above. And it makes noise, which is annoying. I'm a big fan of this and so glad I got it!
