Full disclosure, I received this radio from a seller hoping to write a review. With that in mind, this is my honest review. This is a small multifunctional radio that is approximately 4 inches tall (antenna retracted and secured and strap handle folded), 7 inches wide and 3 inches deep. Functions: Radio function in general: The tuning knob is quite stiff, which makes fine tuning difficult. The speaker is small, about 2 inches in diameter. This doesn't give you high-fidelity audio, but you can still hear speech and music quite well. There is plenty of space for the living room. I'm in a small bedroom listening to a local FM radio station at a loud volume. set to about 25% of dial rotation, and it's louder than face-to-face voice communication. AM radio seems pretty sensitive as I get a lot of stations. Selectivity doesn't seem great as it was difficult to tune each station well and not encounter interference from a neighboring station. I don't listen to AM radio much, so I can't really rate this particular feature highly. FM Radio: This radio seems sensitive enough to hear our local stations. It was a bit tricky to get into a station so all was clear but the local stations were good enough. The dial is not very accurate because there is no division, but the frequencies are written approximately every 4MHz, so it was possible to find the right station. SW Radio: I couldn't get many clear SW stations. None of them were in English, my only language, so I didn't waste time listening to them. Radio WB: There is no need to tune the weather range with the tuning knob. There is a 7-position switch to select one of seven weather bands. I could only receive the seventh station. It worked well enough. I could understand the information received. There are many ways to power the device: built-in rechargeable lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery, disposable AAA batteries, clockwork, solar, and micro USB. There is a slide switch to switch between AAA batteries and Li-ion power supply. I haven't tried anything other than a lithium-ion power supply yet. I believe the other three power sources: hand crank, solar power, and micro USB are connected to lithium ion battery and effectively charge this battery and power the radio. I believe it also powers the Type A USB port so you can charge your phone or whatever from the internal battery. I don't know if this connector runs on AAA batteries. At one end of the radio is a flashlight beam and a more diffused "reading light" deployed behind a tiny solar panel. Both have two different levels of brightness. There is also an emergency function that flashes a very bright red LED and emits a siren sound. It's very noisy in a small room what I unexpectedly found out. It also came with a small carabiner and a small compass attached to the handle. would i buy this I live in Florida, hurricane country. I think it might come in handy if we ever lose power so yeah, as part of my hurricane preparedness I would buy this radio. I suppose you could also take it on a hike. There are some similar devices at Revain and I haven't rated the value of this device against anyone else so I can't say if it's a good deal or not.
