I read the reviews of Ken Rockwell, The Wirecutter and DP before purchasing this lens. This is a good wide-angle lens for beginners, in fact it's my only second prime lens after the 35. While most reviews complain that it's a bit soft overall or fuzzy around the edges, I'm very happy with it. After using it for a few weeks I realize that a slightly faster lens or something with a larger aperture could be good, but I couldn't justify the cost. Travel wide angle for architecture, scenes and spots. which are a bit narrow for a 35, this is a great lens. If I didn't have a budget, or if I was actually getting paid for my photos, I wouldn't hesitate to spend another $200-$300 on Nikkor. I don't think it deserves 3 stars but 4 definitely reflects its value for money.
