My son wanted to replace the front brake on his old Scott Ultimate bike with a hydraulic one so this was a great opportunity to try it. When ordering, I didn't notice that since we mount the front arm on the left on our bikes, the bleeder screw and the expansion tank in the handle would have to be swapped during installation. It also adds volume where the switches get a little in the way. We installed it anyway and bled the system with the lever upside down and then flipped the lever to the correct "upside down" position where it went from perfect to spongy. After several pumping cycles, we finally figured it out. My universal bleed kit that I've used on my Shimano and other big brands doesn't fit either, so it took longer to bleed each time. Even with a new rotor, the pads creak. We had to go back to the old pads from the caliper we replaced. The paint around the bleed screw peeled off easily even with careful handling. So I don't think the color fastness will be that good in the long run. I plan to eventually get the right lever with the tank up. But it was an expensive way to try hydraulics, and so far it's worked well.
