My device doesn't like rechargeable batteries as they put out 1.3V instead of the 1.5V of traditional non-rechargeable Duracell batteries. The player is sensitive to undervoltage. I've charged regular 1.5 volt non-rechargeable batteries and they work well with CDs and MP3s. The seller's description was accurate. The device is good and worth the price I paid $48.
