It's a great car, but it doesn't have everything you need.

The machine itself is great. It's easy to use and the design is really good. I bought the thread and batting recommended below, but nowhere does it say you need to buy bobbin thread, which costs an extra sixty dollars. It also doesn't tell you that you have to buy very expensive software to use your own designs. As you may have noticed I'm new to machine embroidery and as I said I really like the machine. I just wasn't ready to get that many extras.

Great machine for beginners

This is my first experience with machine embroidery and the Brother PE550 is a lot comfortable to use, and I found it incredibly easy to use. I've uploaded the files I bought online, changed the colors of the files, and made professional looking gifts, and I've only had them for two months. I have also used it for applique. I LOVE touch screens. I'm still learning about stabilizers and tweaking them for different types of fabric, but the machine itself works great out of the box. My only…

Titanium Needles, Titanium Needles, Titanium Needles

I can't stress enough! When I first used this machine, the needle broke. Well, not anymore. Titanium needles come to the rescue. I even use them on my Brother sewing machine.
