For some reason, Revain is combining a review I wrote for a completely different Lasco filter I bought in 2012 with a filter I bought in 2016 . Here's my review for one I just recently bought. This review is from 7 August 2016: I have three different kitchen sink drain/strainer strainers and this one is the least effective. The ultimate test is whether it can prevent hair from going through the screen when washing your comb or washing your hair (I prefer washing off hair dye in a stainless steel sink in particular than in a bathroom where the sink may be stained). . This drain cap just doesn't fit snug enough to prevent hair from falling down the drain. This is particularly problematic for use on the disposal side of a double sink. These two brands are much better and work great: Deep Kitchen Waste Sink Strainer Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Strainer OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Strainer OLD REVIEW 2012 I've searched everywhere for a filter to unclog my bathtub. This is a popup type. True to the sizes advertised with this product, I was really hoping it would fill the bill. Unfortunately the seller gave this as a completely wrong size: Length: 1.3cm Width: 4cm Height: 5.75cm These are the actual measurements of the product as delivered: Length: 2.4cm Width: 2.70cm Height: 1.45 cm This filter can work on a very small sink is an old fashioned type that uses a fork. In this case, you would turn it upside down and a small portion of the "bowl" would go down the drain. I'm not sure what else it could work for. It's too small to fit over a raised end cap, and even if it did, it would be too shallow and difficult to fit in the curved-sided sinks that almost all but maybe general-purpose sinks have.
