Although the instructions leave a lot to be desired; With a little research and testing through fire, we were able to get things off the ground pretty quickly. We have currently used about 25 gallons and have not been disappointed. We use it in 3 ways ---- We leave out some items, we spray wood and walls with a spray gun and compressor, and we mix it with our paint and apply. Spraying is the best method, but if you are mixing paint and using a roller, be sure to use a very thick knobbed roller.

Seems to work, makes paint very runny and watery

I bought this to mix with paint to paint exposed basement columns, beams and joists. I mixed a full gallon of this paint with just under a gallon of latex paint. I did some tests on a few boards first and it didn't work when I first tried it, but I skipped the part about the 24 hour wait. . The next day I tried again and the board turned a little brown but didn't burn and almost didn't smoke. It appears to work exactly as described and is a lot better than nothing. Causes mold on wood after 48 hours, hygroscopic

Said to inhibit mold growth in addition to being flame retardant, but I've tested the exact opposite. I sprayed it on the plywood in my van. The plywood was dry before I painted it and I figured it would dry overnight. The weather was rainy, but inside it was dry and the humidity was 60-70%. I didn't check it out until 2 days later and I saw black spots of mold/fungus on the plywood. I also sprayed some 2x2s that I let dry in the shed and they also started to mold.
