Review on Enhanced Eisco Labs Light Box Covering by Mohmed Burt

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!(1) Be prepared to spend twice as much to get a functional light box. Although it is mentioned in the description, this product does not include an AC adapter and since the light they emit uses "banana plugs" you cannot just use any AC adapter. In fact, you can't use most of them. I ended up having to go to Fry's Electronics to buy it. The cheapest of them cost MORE than this whole set. Again, this isn't a false advertising issue, I just had no idea how much it would cost to buy a power supply that would work with this kit and had I known about this I wouldn't have bought this product so I want to know others. (2) The quality is mediocre. For about 65€ I expected a higher quality. It came in a box with cheap styrofoam cut outs which is falling apart so cannot be used for storage. The real lenses and filters are good, but not top quality, and the lightbox looks like a $0.75 piece of plastic. (3) Positive aspects? For now the main plus is the book that comes with this set - it has loads of projects to try and while it leaves a little to be desired it will increase the likelihood that my kids will use this product.

Pros
  • The ideal kit to teach students all aspects of geometric optics and the study of light.
Cons
  • Unbelievable Price
