Review on Fel Pro 1810 Oil Pan Gasket by Paul Dye

To me...this seal is more effective than the Felpro solid seal for the 351w. One piece part with oil pan is not 100% sealed on rear cover. All of the instructions (and they are accurate) emphasize "no RTV". And yes, if you use an RTV on a solid gasket, the chance of a leak increases. This 4 piece gasket is easy to fit when the engine is in the car. Just use some gasket glue (Gaskinich or aircraft gasket sealant) to hold the parts in place and lift the oil pan into position. A bit of black RTV in the corners where the lid's rubber grommets meet the fiber grommet... and perfect. So...for aftermarket oil pans, I find this one always works best.
