I liked the previous vanilla GU Revitalizing Shake from the start and as I can't find it online anymore I decided to try this new formula. My husband and I tried this cocktail last weekend after our long 16/18 mile runs. The cocktail works - I believe it helps with recovery. In terms of taste, however, they completely missed the target. It tasted awful. I had to strangle him. I liked the taste of the old formula but this one doesn't work. Will not buy again and will probably switch to downwind recovery after the rest of the bag hits us. UPDATE: After some trial/error, using less water eliminates the chemical taste described above. The pouch says to only use 8 ounces of water (which I missed the first time since the old formula was supposed to use 16 ounces). Upgraded to 4 stars - 8 ounces of water makes the shake a little thicker than I prefer and doesn't always dissolve completely (I use a blender bottle).
