Review on πŸͺ‘ HON Wave Mesh High-Back Task Chair with Height-Adjustable Arms in Black: Stay Comfortable and Productive by Jessica Ward

Don't be fooled by high reviews like me.

I am very surprised by all the rave reviews of this chair. Of course there aren't that many, but they are consistently high. Unfortunately, I didn't have such a wonderful experience with this product. From opening the box and taking inventory to fully assembling the chair, it took about 25 minutes. The instructions were very easy to read, the parts were clearly of high quality and it was easy to put together. However, the fun ended there. Other reviews have mentioned that the seat offers support, which is what I was looking for. However, for many people, "supportive" seems to mean "hard as a brick." It's not thin, it's just VERY hard. I weigh about 160 pounds so I don't have a lot of pillows on my body and this seat instantly became the most uncomfortable I've ever sat on. I've used a lot of office chairs, that says a lot. . As mentioned by others, the pillowcase is not a hard fabric; it is a fabric mesh with small holes. No matter how careful you are, countless types of particles will inevitably end up in a real seat cushion over time, which of course is not desirable. However, this is just a pillow. The armrests are very sturdy and their height seems just right to keep your shoulders relaxed while allowing you to keep your arms fairly low, but they're spaced so far that it's highly impractical. For a taller and much wider person, they might be useful, but there certainly aren't many keyboard trays that would allow someone to slide the keyboard and mouse that far apart when using both armrests at the same time. The back seems supportive but I can't tell how it will perform over time. It's a fabric based material, not actual mesh, and I've found that it's loosened up over the time I've spent with the chair. It doesn't raise or lower, leaving you stuck at the height specified by the manufacturer. All in all, this chair is pretty disgusting to me. The practicality of the design is just as terrible as the build quality, and it's a really bewildering and disappointing combination. Unless you are buying a "big and tall" office chair, avoid this product at all costs. For $200+, you can definitely find a chair that is more adjustable, comfortable, and practical for a smaller person.
