If only it could speak like my previous device I would add a fifth star. I bought a BellSouth phone booth to replace the (discontinued) Philips Talking Caller ID that, years before his death, would let me know when my phone rang and announce the caller's name or location. And I didn't have to be near this device to hear the announcement. The BellSouth box doesn't speak, but does everything else reasonably well and, thanks to its accurate clock, records incoming calls well on the contrast-adjustable LCD, regardless of whether I'm nearby when the phone rings. . I particularly like the callback buttons for the 7-, 10- and 11-digit numbers in the list of incoming calls and use them often. The message waiting reminder provides a helpful notification that I have a new voicemail message. Finally, I found the user manual to be informative and helpful for both the easy initial setup and how to use the various features. Of course, as with any such device, in order to use it, you need to order caller ID service from your carrier.
