This circuit board can save you over $240.

Let's assume your powerful gate opener is properly installed and has been working flawlessly for many, many months. One day you come home and when the arm is fully retracted, it stops and starts beeping. You will hear 3 beeps if the fault is in the dominant hand, or 4 beeps if it is the loose hand. They check to see if the wiring is clogged with weeds and gophers have chewed them. Most likely the small circuit board pictured above has failed. This circuit board, Mighty Mule GTO Tachometer Board for FM350, FM352, FM500, FM502, FM600, 2000XL - RVCTBD50, consisting of a tachometer and a limit switch, prevents the gate handle from running away. The problem is that he lives in a hostile, humid environment. Mine failed after about 7000 cycles and 8 years in sea spray climate. I suspect the rest of the gate arm components are stronger and will last another 10 years. I looked pretty closely on the internet. Although there are many installation videos, I could not find any video or information about the 500/502 heavy arm on the internet. Replacing the firing pin in the reinforced arm 500/502 takes about 20 minutes. Here's what it includes: First you need to turn off the power switch on the bottom left of the control box. You remove the split pins of the gate arm at both ends. Leaving all the cables in place, turn your hand over and place it on a piece of cardboard on the floor. Then use the T20 bit to remove 14 screws. Less than 2 minutes with a cordless tool. You open the body of the clamshell about an inch and disconnect the header cable. Please note that the lid is not removable, but swings open like a shell. The board is secured to the assembly with a shorter T20 screw. You swap the boards, screw in the new one, and plug the connector back in, making sure the orange and green wires match the markings on the board. You can also remove all the rust, dust, cobwebs and fluff it all up. . Also, after you've removed all of the accumulated dirt, it's a good idea to insert some wire or a small nail into the bottom drain hole to ensure the moisture has a chance to escape. apply a light coat of molybdenum graphite grease to the worm gear, being careful to wipe away any excess grease so it doesn't clog the tiny limit switch on the circuit board. You reassemble the lever, lubricate all the pins and friction points with molybdenum, and turn the power back on. Or you can buy a new replacement arm from Revainians for $262.
