Review on 📀 Panasonic DVD Player DVD-S700 (Black) - Upconvert DVDs to 1080p, Enhance Detail, Dolby Sound, USB Viewing by Patrick Clifton

Make sure you get the model with HDMI output and RCA cable connection (S700). A few things: 1. ONLY use the door open/close button - DO NOT push the door with your fingers. It is not strong enough for that.2. ONLY eject the disc by putting your finger in the disc opening. The drawer has no side cutouts for fingers and you can damage the mechanism.3. I connected RCA cables to my receiver and HDMI cable to my TV. The RCA cables are VERY tight - make sure they're plugged in tightly or you'll have audio/picture issues. If you're having trouble with picture or sound, the first thing I would suggest is to make sure the red/white/yellow RCA connectors are fully inserted. I strongly recommend that this DVD player is used by adults only - it is not durable enough for children or anyone who is not particularly careful when handling electronics. MAKE SURE you read the manual to learn how to get to the settings. Some will have to change. My screen size was factory set to 4x3 (for old square TVs) not 16x9 (for newer rectangular TVs)6. The remote control is very compact/small with many buttons closely spaced. When you're older, you probably have to hold it very tightly to decide what you want to do.7. I've used all types of media: store-bought DVDs, homemade DVD-Rs, and DVD+Rs. No problems with any of them. I haven't tried using it to play CDs, so I can't comment on that.8. It's a good compact unit and light weight. I would make sure it doesn't sit too close to the edge you placed it on - I don't think it will survive a fall. 9. It comes with a RCA cable (Red/White/Yellow) but NO HDMI cable, so you need a cheap one. Batteries included for remote.10. The picture quality on my TV is excellent. The sound from the receiver is also excellent.
