Review on πŸŽ’ Caboodles Make Me Over Train Case, Black Lace, Cosmetic Storage & Organizer, 3.5 Lb by Sarah Zepeda

Nice sewing kit.

I use it as a container for all my sewing supplies. I can store many spools of thread, spools, scissors, sticks, clips/needles in one case along with all the other bits and pom poms I need. My biggest issue with this is that the largest bottom compartment can be difficult to access. In an attempt to keep sanity in my kit, I keep the clamps in a small tin can. The tin fits perfectly in the size of the compartment, the problem is that the middle compartments overhang the bottom compartment, thus limiting the opening. That means I have to get things at an odd angle, which means I usually have to take things off to get my can out. That's not a problem, and if you have a container that's narrower than my little can, it probably won't be such a problem. It also turned out to be a little smaller than I thought it would be, but not terribly so. I measured my mom's vintage sewing container (which looks more like fishing tackle) and the measurements were fairly comparable, but somehow mine seems a lot smaller than I expected it to be slightly larger. There's still plenty of room, though maybe not when you've got a billion accessories. My setup is reasonable but modest for a hardcore sewer I'm sure. It will be a good case for the house and not something I would take with me on the road on a regular basis. It's definitely stronger when closed, but like most things these days, it uses quite a bit of cheap plastic. Nothing like my mother's suitcase, which seems to be made out of this indestructible plastic.

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Ribbon
