My problem was cabinet noise that seemed to be coming from different places at different times and from different listening positions. The noise was difficult to produce even without driving. In this case it turned out to be related to the shock absorber/strut. It was lucky because the noise source needs to have something to attach the sensor to. And the places where you want to mount the sensors should be accessible. You'll also want to be able to mount other sensors close to the noise source, but a little further away, to see how the sound attenuates with increasing distance from the source to increase confidence that you're hearing a specific one found source. All of these conditions applied to me. I can think of other sources of noise where clip attachment conditions are not right. If so, you're still not sure where exactly the noise is coming from.
