Excellent for determining which wheel bearing is failing on cars that are just starting to roar. Great for chassis squeaks but I can usually find them on the lift. Mainly used for wheel bearings. Transmitters are made quite cheaply. On-off switch especially.

That's exactly what I wanted!

The first set had a #4 static noise issue, but the replacement arrived in perfect condition. Looking forward to finding the source of the rattle. This tool is essential for diagnosing rattle, vibration and noise issues. You can add #5, 6 channels if you ever need more than the 4 included channels.

A bit pricey but does what it says on the tin

The magnet in the transmitter seemed weak but enough to hold the device. I placed 3 of the 4 transmitters around the front anti-roll bar and strut mount to try to find the source of the suspension noise I was hearing. I took a short ride and all the stations stayed in place and I was able to switch between each station to hear what sounds were coming from each location. Having a wireless connection from the transmitters to the receiver is really nice. Placing the mic clips and securing the mic…

Worked great in my environment

My problem was cabinet noise that seemed to be coming from different places at different times and from different listening positions. The noise was difficult to produce even without driving. In this case it turned out to be related to the shock absorber/strut. It was lucky because the noise source needs to have something to attach the sensor to. And the places where you want to mount the sensors should be accessible. You'll also want to be able to mount other sensors close to the noise source,

Found my problem in an enclosed area that I couldn't see

I used this on a bulldozer that was bottlenecked to work with. I couldn't isolate the noise source at the front of the engine. The tool helped me find the area behind it, then I connected the ears to different spots in that area. What sounded like a problem with the front actually came from the rear pump system. The fan and bulldozer design attracted noise that sounded like the front of the machine. This worked great and I was able to find the problem and save myself from wasting time working…

A godsend for detecting annoying ringing noises.

Let me find the intermittent low pitched ringing that I have missed despite 6 weeks of searching for the source of the noise. The sound was like a hose gently hitting metal. Several episodes where the car was jacked up and bolts, bushings, stabilizer bars, fuel tank straps, fenders, bumper clamps, trunk fenders, exhaust tips, brake hoses, etc. were checked/tightened. I could never find the source of the ringing, which only happened at < 15 mph and only over small bumps in the road. In the…
