Found my problem in an enclosed area that I couldn't see

I used this on a bulldozer that was bottlenecked to work with. I couldn't isolate the noise source at the front of the engine. The tool helped me find the area behind it, then I connected the ears to different spots in that area. What sounded like a problem with the front actually came from the rear pump system. The fan and bulldozer design attracted noise that sounded like the front of the machine. This worked great and I was able to find the problem and save myself from wasting time working in the wrong place. I also used it to detect a knock in the front of my car. I've taken it to a car dealership and three other stores. They couldn't find a source and wanted to charge me for replacing unnecessary parts. I used an earplug and insulated it from a simple split sleeve in my harness. A simple solution that costs $18 per part instead of $800 in the store. Revain's price was the best I've found and well worth the money. Good product.
