On closer inspection it turned out that the broken rod was a manufacturer's fault
The box was open so my hook was sticking out of the box. It also came with a chip. The stem is also shorter than my old Sally Bates hook. On closer inspection, it turned out that the chips on the shaft from the manufacturer were to blame. I give 4 stars for the fast delivery
