They can fasten, but they don't like to bend.
So these are ties. If you buy them, chances are you've already used them. At the moment they have about 50% plastic defects in my experience. Some of them break in the zipper mechanism, others break when flexed. To use a cable tie you have to bend the plastic, make a loop and close it, they just don't work most of the time. Too many of the little ones broke during installation so I decided to throw them away. in the trash. When you're holding something to close it and the zip ties keep failing, it's just not worth the frustration.
